A New Direction
Government works best when our elected representatives continue to regularly engage with the public. Unfortunately, political leaders in Sacramento no longer regularly make time for town halls or to meet with constituents, instead resting on their laurels. Voters are expected to vote one way or the other, and thus are discounted, which further creates a sense of uninterest from politicians.
We need leadership which will fight for all of us, rather than grandstanding in place of policy. Finding problems is easy, complaining simple; creating and implementing solutions that help everyone? That’s where the real work begins.
Josh was born, raised, and educated throughout California. The son of an immigrant father who created a successful business during the tech boom and a mother who balanced her own small businesses with raising a family, Joshua grew up in a family that taught him the importance of hard work and a hands-on community approach. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was ten, as his father was at twelve, thus learning the grit and determination to not just succeed, but thrive in difficult circumstances.
Joshua integrated these lessons with his own experiences. Since high school, Joshua became deeply invested in serving his community through performing community service, volunteering with various community organizations and supporting striking Union organizers. He graduated from CalPoly SLO with a degree in history and a minor in law, where Joshua focused on the Central Valley issues like water, agriculture, education, and healthcare; learning from the past to build a better future.
